Plastic vs Bamboo: Climate Change, Cost and Availability.

Bamboo Life Mission Climate Change

If you’re still wondering where these two sit on popular topics (a little like Trump VS Clinton, except in this case there is a REAL winner for the environment); here’s how they compare on key issues.
Climate change
The burning of fossil fuels, required to produce even the smallest amount of plastic, releases carbon dioxide into the environment, which contributes to climate change. Why does this matter? Well, depends if you like changes like an increase in hurricanes, melting of polar ice caps to submerge land (destroying habitats for humans, plants and animals alike) and damage to natural wonders of the world, like the Great Barrier Reef. Bamboo; on the other hand, does none of the above; as it does not require the use of fossil fuels to be produced into a material ready for commercial use.
Bamboo: 1; Plastic: 0.
 Cost
Cost is a funny one; because it depends what you mean. Cost to your hip pocket? Plastic products, let’s say, sunglasses; can be as inexpensive or exxy (as you like. Cost on the environment? Well; permanent contribution to landfill, the killing of 100,000 sea creatures annually (from plastic bags alone) and the leaching of harmful chemicals into the delicate biosphere… Add this to the fact that this doesn’t just cost you, or the environment, but it costs generations to come that will be unable to experience the world as we know it due to our negligence… and yeah, it’s pretty expensive. Bamboo, on the other hand; to your hip pocket – is actually quite minimal; at least when you’re buying from us – we create timeless designs and use robust materials that see you through season after season. Cost to the environment for using bamboo? Again, minimal. Rather, it’s a preferred material when it comes to sustaining the environment and protecting our eco-system.
Bamboo: 2; Plastic: 0.
